About Me

Thanks for being here! I am a licensed and board certified art therapist, licensed professional counselor, and holistic health coach helping people feel better through creative expression and upgrading lifestyle choices for optimal health. But you probably already read that on the home page, so here's a little more about me...

Before I started my career as a helping professional, I wore many hats. I have been an actress, an artist, a restaurant server, a teacher, and a long-time student. As a performer and artist, I felt the stress of always looking for the next gig. Working in restaurants, I knew the financial uncertainty of each shift. As a teacher, I felt the pressure of being spread too thin. At school, I wanted to be recognized. Sometimes I struggled with anxiety or periods of sadness that felt unshakable, and I certainly felt stuck in a rut at times when it felt impossible to get out of my own way. I became very interested in finding a way to feel better inside and out; to be more fulfilled, and less concerned with how other people saw me.

Through my training and practice as a health coach and therapist, I realized that regular self-care was a crucial component to improve overall wellbeing. I am a firm believer in walking my talk by experimenting with the recommendations I share with my clients, so I started paying close attention to what I was eating, my sleep, who I spent time with, and how I spent my time alone. Do I always get it right? NO! But I know that in order to be my best self at work and at home, I need to make time for self-care. For me, a big part of taking care of myself is through creative expression; it helps me focus on the present moment and feel productive. I love learning and creating, and I became inspired to help people feel better by exploring art making as a primary tool.

As a mental health professional, I have provided clinical art therapy and counseling in outpatient, long-term residential, hospital, and educational settings. I understand what it means to burn out, and more importantly, how to prevent it! I will support you to find new ways to relax, break through thought and behavior patterns that are no longer serving you, improve self-acceptance, and feel energized through a combination of talk therapy, art making, wellness education, and lifestyle modifications.
